Dillighat of Namrup - A famous picnic spot of Upper Assam.
Dillighat of Namrup - A famous picnic spot of Upper Assam.
The Dilihghat in Namrup is a famous picnic spot in Upper Assam. Namrup is a small town situated close to the foothills of the great Patkai Mountain Range(Purvanchal Range connecting to Myanmar) in the extreme southeastern part of Assam, India.
The river Dilih or Disang flows through it. During the winter and mostly during the New Year's Day Dilihghat becomes a busy picnic spot. Clean water, river-bed rocks, green canopy of forests and tea gardens are the major attractions of Dilihghat.
Dilighat is situated on the banks of river dilhi or disang (a tributary of mighty Luit or Brahmaputra) in Namrup and Borhat (a place adjoining to Namrup in Sivasagar District).
I have visited Namrup many times. For few years it was like my second home. Recently I visited Namrup on 21st January 2018 on my way to Lakwa in Sivasagar District through the Dhodar Ali.

Joypore Rainforest Festival 2017
Joypore Rainforest Festival 2017
The Joypore Rainforest Festival was held at Joypore, Naharkatia at Dibrugarh District of Assam on 30th and 31 of December 2017.
The Joypore Rainforest is situated in Dibrugarh and Tinsukia district of Upper Assam and spread across an area of 108 sq. kms and it is also one of the unexplored forests of the region.
Rainforests have often been called as the “Jewels of the Earth” and the
“World’s Largest Pharmacy” as over one quarter of natural medicines have
been discovered there. Rainforests are also responsible for 28% of the
world’s oxygen turnover and also are a home to a plethora of rare and
endangered species of flora and fauna. Jeypore Rainforest is one such blessing to the state of Assam
The festival will focus on Wildlife Tourism and Preservation, Adventure Sports, Music & Art and Food & Culture.
We Visited Joypore Rainforest Festival on 31 December 2017 with my mom and cousins. It was a very well organized event. There were lots of stalls where various commodities are sold such as traditional dresses, jewellery, books, handicrafts and traditional food items. We witnessed Boat Rides, Hot Air Ballooning, ATV Rides, Paint balling, Para motoring among Adventure sports . Some traditional dance troops and music concerts were also performed.

Tour of Thunder Dragon Bhutan - Maha Roadtrip 2014
Bikers of Assam Touring Club, Maha
Roadtrip 2 - International
The Tour of Thunder Dragon – Bhutan
The longest Roadtrip of the year organized by Bikers Of Assam
Touring Club is called Maha Roadtrip.
Initially Bhutan was the destination for our first Maha
Roadtrip in 2013 but we changed the plan and decided to visit the important
Cultural and Historical places of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. We visited
Sivasagar - Kaziranga - Tezpur - Itanagar - Ziro
& Majuli last year. So the destination of Maha Roadtrip 2 - International was
fixed more than a year ago.
The entry permits and route issue was solved by discussing the matter with some passionate travellers in various website and forum. Everyone is encouraged and motivated us to visit Bhutan.

experience (first trek in life, first ride to the capital of a foreign country,
escaped from an accident, the hospitality of Bhutanese and how they abide the
law of the country).
